Biography

Alice Harvey is a female jazz singer whose repertoire ranges from jazz standards and "Rat Pack" songs right through to songs by Amy Winehouse and Norah Jones. She originally started out as a session singer at a very young age, singing in various styles including Country, Pop and Soul. However, her love of jazz and blues grew as she started listening to her greatest influences Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Alice is an incredibly versatile singer and loves many styles of music. These days she is working hard on building a gigging and recording career with her own band, at the core of which is superb pianist Eugene Portman. Alice and Eugene enjoy playing at many wedding venues, events and parties across the UK. The repertoire, sophisticated, romantic and very classy, is a rich blend of jazz standards, ballads, smooth soul and blues. It's mostly standards but interwoven seamlessly are quality originals in similar styles, some written specialy for Alice by her father. Her repertoire also features quite a lot of "Rat Pack" material which always seems to go down well at events. Influences range from Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Diana Krall to Dusty Springfield, Sade and Etta James.
