Bess’s unique sultry voice and chilled-out set exudes bohemian charm. An acoustic soul singer and song-writer, Bess has a unique quirky slant and performs standard jazz classics as well as modern songs from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Duffy and The Who. One song from her album, Shimmer Shine, won the BACS award in 2005 for Best Song. This led to a showcase at the Carling Academy and writing session with producer Elliot Kennedy. Performances with her distinctive, husky and soulful tone have secured sessions with the likes of Phill Thornally, Stereo Mcs and Katie Tunstall.
