Silk Street Brass is a professional jazz band based in London formed back in 2003 as a new generation of the early jazz band. They have the ability to acknowledge and reflect on the past but bring a fresh approach to jazz classics. All have a connection with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, either as a current student, graduate or teacher. The Silk Street band can scale from a 3-piece setup to a full 7-piece band. They perform classic early jazz repertoire in the authentic New Orleans style jazz by greats such as Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke and King Oliver. The band is available to perform in their traditional waistcoats and boaters. They perform at hundreds of events each year, including weddings, private parties, charity and corporate events.
