The Magnets

Biography

The Magnets are a cappella stars, making great music simply with their mouths. Combining glorious harmonies, virtuosi beat boxing and a very British charm, this six-man sound machine has become a must see act on the international music scene, with a hard-won reputation as festival favourites from Edinburgh to Adelaide. A major record deal with EMI in 2000 paved the way for a decade and a half of international touring. Now enjoying the resurgence in the popularity of vocal harmony singing, seen everywhere from the Pitch Perfect films to Gareth Malone’s The Choir, the band are often seen and heard on television and radio both home and abroad. They are frequent contributors on BBC Radio 2, while other recent major appearances include Comic Relief, BBC Breakfast and the viral T-Mobile ‘Welcome Back’ advert. They have performed at venues including the O2 Empire, Shepherds Bush Empire and The Royal Albert Hall and have supported artists such as Blondie and Tom Jones.
